Complete remodel and two-story addition in Richmond Beach
Our clients wanted to update and modernize their home while also making it more conducive to aging in place. We built a two-story addition with a new garage on the bottom level so they could enter the house without having to walk up any stairs, and we installed an elevator for easy access to the second floor. A curbless shower in the master bath, strategically placed grab bars, and no-slip floors ensure the couple feels safe and comfortable. The remodel includes an abundant use of stone imported from Spain, two new fireplaces with a custom solid oak mantel for the primary bedroom, decorative hand-built wooden screens, and built-in cabinetry throughout. The West-facing deck is outfitted with an elegant privacy screen and dramatic pendant lights, as well as hanging heat lamps and an awning for use in inclement weather. A Nana Wall from the dining room to the deck opens the house on warm days. The gourmet kitchen offers two sinks, Gaggenau ovens, an espresso station with retractable doors, appliance caddies, and full-wall stone backsplashes. The regraded landscaping for the new entryway includes Corten steel gates designed by the owner, adorned with etchings of trees, mountains, and foliage.
